Appointments

1. All new patients must please arrive 10 minutes prior to their appointment, so that all the necessary documentation can be completed prior to the session.
2. If an appointment is missed or not cancelled, the full consultation fee could be charged to you personally.   Appointments have to be cancelled 24 hours prior to the appointment.
3. Punctuality is of importance.  If you are late for a session, the session will still end at the arranged time.
4. This is a cash practice. Payment is due on the day of treatment / consultation. 

Terms and conditions

Before commencement of therapy / counselling or forensic assessment, you need to know the following:

1. The first session is usually spent gathering information about you and your expectations.  The initial assessment is also used for planning of therapy or forensic assessment / investigation.
2. The success of therapy depends on how much responsibility you take for change.  Change may be difficult and even upsetting, both to you and to the people who are important to you.
3. Where forensic (psycho-social legal) investigations / services are undertaken, please remember that I can only make qualified recommendations / evaluations based on assessment procedures, unbias reasonable conclusions and tried and tested facts to the Lower and High courts, your lawyer, the Office of the Family Advocate, the Commissioner of Child Welfare or to Magistrates.  I cannot, nor can anybody else, instruct the court or guarantee the acceptance of recommendations.
4. If you feel uncomfortable with any part of the therapy or information-gathering process (for forensic investigations), please inform me.
5. All you say will be regarded as confidential, unless (1) the law or a court order instructs me to reveal the information; (2) you give me permission to reveal all or some of it, and (3) if there is a risk that you will harm yourself, someone else or me.
6. If you prefer to communicate via electronic mail, this facility is available with prior arrangement and if the necessary documentation and consent form have been completed.
